1000 words in half an hour is only when I'm doing a stream-of-consciousness brain dump in my journal. The end result would almost certainly be not worth anybody else reading.

But when writing articles, sometimes I can write a 500-word first draft in about half an hour, if everything is all in my head ready to go. It will need significant editing later, though.
