3 Reasons You Must Stop Using Your Phone When You’re Out Walking

Phones are dangerous. If you’re on your phone while doing anything else, even walking, stop it. Stop it right now, you beautiful person.

Some people look at their phones while walking across a pedestrian crossing. How do they know that some idiot driver isn’t going to drive through a red light? And I’m sure we’ve all seen videos of people walking into lamp posts or falling into ponds.

I was thinking about this when I was reading Shivendra Misra’s article 6 Brain Damaging Habits You May Want to Quit.

I agree with most of the article. The main points are:

  • Don’t sit all day — we need exercise.
  • Don’t overload your brain with too much information.
  • Don’t ruin your ears by listening to music too loud.
  • Don’t watch reality shows — it’s like junk food for your brain.
  • Don’t multitask — it ruins your concentration and makes you less efficient.
  • Avoid sugar.

There’s only one bit I take issue with, and it’s in the section about exercise. It says:
