Aren't transgender women trans women? The confusing question is whether a trans woman should be considered a variation within the umbrella category of "woman", or a separate category. Because we all know that a trans woman is not exactly the same as a biological woman. So we're playing with language rather than reality. But one can question and discuss the usage of language while still striving to treat people with respect.
