But our consciousness is only the same because it's nothing? If consciousness is merely the space in which all things we are aware of arise, it has no properties of its own.
But the contents of our consciousness do matter. What I'm experiencing is relevant to where I am in this time and space, and what you're experiencing is relevant to where you are.
But even when people seemingly have the same experiences, they can come away with different interpretations. My family members remember things differently from me because they had different perspectives. Of course, you could say that that's the contents of consciousness, not consciousness itself. But as I said, it's the contents of consciousness that matter.
As I said in another article, without contents in consciousness, without things to be aware of, there would be nothing. There would just be empty consciousness, which would be utterly meaningless.
Even the intuitive conviction you have that our consciousnesses are all the same, is itself an experience within consciousness, not consciousness itself. It matters to you.
