Do You Remember the Failed Money-Making Writing Site Triond?

Many years ago, around 2007, I first started properly looking at ways to make money online. One site I came across was Triond. It seemed awesome at the time, but it didn’t last.

What was Triond?

The concept wasn’t too different from Medium:

• Writers could write about whatever they were interested in.
• They would then earn some money, depending on how many reads their content got.

The big difference was it was funded by advertising rather than paid memberships.

How it worked:

• You would write something and submit it through the main Triond website.
• An editor would approve your article.
• It would then get published on one of their niche websites which contained adverts.
• You received a share of the advertising revenue.

Triond had quite an extensive collection of different niche websites. These were ready-made AdSense-type sites focused on specific topics — for example, films, sports, technology, health, fashion, etc.
