Everyone is ill-educated in something, because nobody can know everything. And we are all biased in some way, whether we realise it or not. And we're all poor judges of how knowledgeable or skilled we are at things (Dunning–Kruger effect). People often don't know what they don't know. Because if you knew what you didn't know, you would actually know it. 🙂
