Everything you say makes sense, but at the end of the day, people are people and will not always behave how we think they should. Better to not have expectations. Less likely to get annoyed that way.

And medium is not a good way to make money anyway. Better to just write what you want, and any money is a bonus. Any interaction is a bonus not a requirement too. Best to not go looking things to get annoyed about.
