I notice black people in my small town, but that's because there aren't many of them here. Same with Indian or Chinese people. But if I go to a city, I am surrounded by people of all types, so I don't notice the individuals so much.

It's not really racist as such. It's really just about what you're used to seeing. The same would be true if there were mainly blue cars in my town. If ever I saw a red car it would stand out. But if I go to a city full of different coloured cars, the red cars don't stand out anymore.

But if, when driving, I was to only give way to blue cars, and not red cars, that would be a problem.
