I think when you're writing about really important topics, you can't please everyone. The most important issues always have a wide range of opinions. Also, Twitter seems to be the worst for people expressing their annoyance at opinions they disagree with.
But think of all the people you might help. Sure, there are people for whom "look on the bright side" won't be enough to help them. But I'm sure there are plenty of people for whom that is exactly what they need to be told.
I suppose one analogy might be something like insomnia. One could recommend that people make sure they get enough calcium, magnesium and tryptophan. But there will always be some people who will say "I tried that and it didn't work for me". But what about all the people who tried it and it did work for them?
