I wonder how many people on social media are genuinely offended, or just pretend to get offended as a form of virtue signalling. For example, if someone was to say something that women might find offensive, it wouldn't offend me personally because I'm not female, yet many men in such a situation would react as if they are offended, as way of showing other people that they are a "good person".
