In addition to the issue of you being autistic and your wife being neurotyical, this is compounded by the general differences between men and women. I've read that when a woman goes to her female friends with a problem, she wants sympathy, but when a man goes to his male friends with a problem, he wants a solution. Even with neurotypical men, there can often be a difficulty when a woman tells her husband or boyfriend about her problems. The man instinctively wants to find solutions to the problems, but that's not what the woman wants.

If you add autism to this, it's amazing that you've managed to stay married for 24 years.
