It's kind of arrogant really. Just because someone wants to write for a publication, doesn't mean they want to always read everything that's going on with that publication. I don't tend to read the newsletters. I might have a quick scan through to see if there's any important information. But apart from that, there are far more interesting things here to read.

Same with publication rules. Keep them short, or people won't bother reading them. I told the owner of Feedium that a while back.
