I’ve Abandoned Over 100 Articles, and Some of Them Are Absolutely Ridiculous

This article is the longest I’ve published to Medium so far, but that wasn’t intentional. There are many amusing things here, though, so please read it. Or at least start reading it. Then carry on reading it. If you want to, of course. I’m not forcing you. I’m not holding a gun to your head. I don’t even own a gun. I do own some juggling balls, though, but that’s probably irrelevant.

I’ve got a folder called “Abandoned”, where I put my Medium articles if I give up on them.

Why does this happen?

Sometimes, part way through writing something, I realise I don’t have any genuine enthusiasm for it. Or perhaps I realise there’s not enough to write about. Or sometimes, I realise it’s not going to be worth reading.

Occasionally, it’s because I think I’ve gone too far, and what I’m writing might be too offensive. That’s rare, though. Usually, I don’t care if some people don’t like what I’ve…
