Most of us want to earn money from our writing here. It was probably at least part of the motivation for the person writing the original article. I had a whole article's worth of related ideas to write, so it warranted it a new article. The reason for tagging the original author was to include them in the discussion. And they seemed to gladly get involved. The only person who seemed to have a problem with it was the publication owner.
