On a First Date, Is It a Red Flag if They Spit on the Floor?
Also, is it a bad sign if they shout at you about conspiracy theories?
I can still remember my worst first date. It was about 3 years ago. I can laugh about it in hindsight now, but at the time it wasn’t much fun.
I was going through a very busy period of online dating. I was messaging as many women as possible and arranging as many dates as I could. I regarded dating as a numbers game, so I wanted to maximize my chances by going on lots of dates.
I had given my phone number to this one woman. One evening she phoned me while I was on my way back from a summer evening walk.
This is when the first red flag appeared. She talked almost non-stop for a whole hour. I could barely get a word in edgeways. Not only that, she was full of so much negativity, especially about dating.
But I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt, and at the end of our chat, I agreed to meet up with her. I was hoping perhaps her phone manner was just due to nerves. I was wrong.
We met at a city pub near where she lived. She didn’t smile when we greeted each other. Then we bought drinks at the bar, where the barman complimented me on my bright orange top.
