Should we get rid of Christmas? Or should we keep it as an annual fun celebration?

Here I will look at both sides of the argument and let you make up your own mind.

Reasons we should NOT get rid of Christmas

It gives people something to look forward to

As autumn drifts into winter, the days become darker and colder. Christmas gives people a fun event on the horizon to aim for. Without it, winter could seem like a long, gloomy time without much to enjoy.

It might be the only time the whole family gets together

Many people have busy lives. When else does everyone all get to sit around a table together and cheer each other up?

Sitting around in warm knitted sweaters, eating nice food, drinking nice wine or beer, pulling crackers with silly jokes in them, and farting. For a lot of people, it has a certain warm and cosy appeal.
