The funny thing is, I tend to skip introductions, especially if they are too long. I usually just dive straight into the meat of the article. Similarly, I usually skip the conclusion. I know the main body of the article will contain the useful information, so I usually just go there. If I've not found what I'm looking for in the main body, I'm unlikely to suddenly find it in the conclusion. And if there are no subheadings, I sometimes just skip the whole article. I tend not to wade through 500+ words of unformatted waffle to see if there's anything interesting in there.
