The great thing about Medium is that we can write whatever we want, as long as we follow Medium's reasonable rules. Basically, don't break any laws or be a total dickhead. There are loads of publications about all kinds of topics, and loads of people here interested in all kinds of things.

Although it's certainly not a way to get rich quickly, it has good long-term potential for those willing and able to stick at it and do their very best.

I'm regarding it as a long-term business. Imagine if you started a new business now. Would you expect it to turn a huge profit within a few months? Of course not.

I like what Hogan Torah recently said. Before he joined Medium, he was paying $100 per year to run his own blog, but not earning any money from it. Now he pays Medium $50 per year and earns some money. Plus he doesn't have to care about any of the back end technical stuff.

I've published 154 articles here so far. I've only just got started. Imagine what it will be like when I've published 1,000 articles.
