The problem is, it's not enough data to draw any meaningful conclusions. The algorithm is likely too complicated for us to understand. There could be any number of reasons why that story suddenly got lots of views. And who knows, if you'd not gone away, maybe it would have got even more. We can never know.

I wouldn't worry about your stories being pushed down your feed. Most people probably won't find your stories that way anyway.
