This reminds me a bit of a friend I had years ago. He had such low self-esteem that he was always apologising all the time. Every other sentence would contain the word "sorry". It's like his past trauma had programmed him to assume that everything he does is wrong. But most of the time, there was nothing to apologise for. Of ourse, eventually all the apologising became very annoying, so it was a self-fulfilling prophecy.
