Through necessity, I am looking elsewhere for additional writing work. I was briefly exploring Fiverr, as I have had a small amount of success with that in the past, but then decided it didn't really suit me. So now I am applying for jobs on Upwork.

So it might be that Medium just then becomes a fill-in place for when I don't have other writing work. In a way, that would be rather liberating, as I could approach it without any care or attatchment to outcome. I could just use Medium purely for publishing things that I want to write, rather than what I think is likely to earn money.
