Well, this is the issue. Is consciousness actually involved in the discernment, or does the discernment happen in the moments prior conscious awareness? What if, by the time you're aware of something, the subconscious wheels have already been set in motion? What if consciousness is incorrectly claiming authorship for content written by the subconscious?
