Why You Don’t Need to Be An Expert to Write About Interesting Things
As long as you don’t pretend you’re an expert. An article can just be an opening for a conversation.

There are some amazing experts on Medium. I’m learning some really interesting things. However, I wonder if some people might be pretending to know about things they aren’t actually experts in.
It’s fine not to be an expert in something. It’s fine not to be sure. Just as long as you don’t pretend to be.
Publishing an article on Medium doesn’t need to be about imparting wisdom. It can also be about starting a conversation. You can just bring a topic up and then ask people what they think.
You can end with a question rather than a wise “take-home point” summary because it sparks the conversation.
And shorter articles are fine. Use only as many words as needed. No time wasted.
