Yeah, I hated it when editors would change my spelling to American versions. There was even one publication I refused to join because their rules specifically stated that we must use American spellings. Did you know that there are more English speaking people outside of the US than in the US? So it's quite arrogant of them to insist that the rest of the world use their spellings.
