Yes, but he's saying that if it were true that the end thing is the most important thing then why bother with the rest of it? I'm just saying that's not true because even if the end thing is the most important thing, the rest is still important. In the flowers example, getting to your destination might end up being all the more amazing if you've spent the journey smelling the flowers along the way. If you only smell the flowers but never arrive at where you were intending to get to, it might not be as good.
