Yes, but in terms the non-autistic world, we are "less than". That's why autism is classed as a disability, because we struggle to understand and interact with others. That doesn't mean we don't have strengths too, but let's not overlook the reality that autism is a problem. If it wasn't, there would be no need to seek assessment and diagnosis from a medical professional. This is the whole reason, I sought a diagnosis - my professional and personal life was a disaster, and I needed help. Once I got the diagnosis, I got help, and it made a big difference. But I do have strengths too, and this is why it's important that autistic people get help and assistance, so that they can use their skills and talents to contribute to society.
