Yes, it is an awesome album. I read that the drums were all programmed, though. It was the same on the Pyromania album. No real drums except for cymbals. This was at least partly because Mutt Lange wanted to play around with arrangements right up to the last minute, so he didn't want to commmit to a drum arrangement early on. But of course, Rick's accident meant that it made sense to continue working in this way on Hysteria.

I think most of the basslines were programmed, too. For example, you can clearly hear this on Gods of War. It's so perfectly in time and without any natural nuances you'd get from playing a bass guitar.
