Yes, there is a wide range on the autistic spectrum. This seems to be why Asperger's Syndrome was invented, to distinguish such people from the more severely autistic people who will never be able to take care of themselves.

I can take care of myself very well, and am very organised. My main issues are with sensory sensitivities and struggling to understand some social situations. I am clearly very different from somebody who needs to wear diapers and bashes their head against a wall. But I still have difficulties, so it's all a matter of degree.
