You and Me and the Stars and the Guitars
As we stood on the hilltop looking at the star-filled sky, she held my hand and whispered in my ear, “Can you hear that?”
I listened and heard nothing but the wind as it swooshed around us.
But then, from the distance, the sound of guitars echoed across the sky. As they drifted closer and grew louder, a subtle warm glow started to emerge from the distant edge of the sea, and the sound of angels rose up from the horizon.
She clasped my hand tight as we were lifted up into the air. And as the music filled us from the inside out, we flew across the sea. Colours and shapes danced around us like whirling dervishes made of pure love.
She whispered in my ear, “Can you feel that?”
The above imaginative bit of nonsense is inspired by an unfinished piece of music I created in 2014 called You and Me and the Stars and the Guitars. I really like bits of it, but overall, I was never happy with it.
