You can see how that fits the definition of a stupid person from my other article. Their behaviour is causing their own problems. And it's going to cause problems for other people in the long run if they use up more energy than they need.

It's like when I see people out in the rain without waterproofs on. They live in a country where it rains on half the days, and we have weather forecasts. Then they're somehow baffled that they're soaking wet. Might as well just walk around with your eyes closed and wonder why you keep falling over.
