You might indeed have different experiences of autistic groups than I did. I can only speak about my own experience.

I think it also depends on how severely autistic someone is. Because I'm such a mild case, I can often pass as neurotypical to the casual observer. And when I meet people who are more autistic than me, I find myself almost playing the part of the neurotypical. I find myself forcing myself to bend to their ways because I know that if I don't it will just be a disaster. But it can be exhausting.

I've found that the worst autists are the extroverted ones. Because not all autistic people are quiet introverts. Some are loud and very social, but with no concept of social boundaries. Fucking nightmare for a very mildly autistic introvert like me.
